Developer

Flotation Energy is the lead developer on the Chu Tin floating offshore windfarm.

With extensive technical, commercial, and operational expertise, Flotation Energy has an established track record of delivering large-scale commercial energy projects to the market.

Members of the technical team at Flotation Energy played influential roles in the development of the world’s largest, grid-connected floating offshore windfarm – Kincardine, 15km off the East Coast of Scotland. The success and learnings from the Kincardine floating offshore windfarm project serve as a blueprint for Taiwan.

Currently in the UK, Flotation Energy is developing a project portfolio of pioneering floating offshore windfarms. This includes the Green Volt offshore windfarm, which is on track to become the world’s largest floating offshore windfarm.

Developed under Crown Estate Scotland’s INTOG Leasing Round, and having secured full onshore and offshore planning consents, Green Volt was awarded a Contract for Difference (CfD) by UK Government in September 2024 — leaving the project poised for a leading role in the global energy transition.

With our deep technical knowledge, engineering expertise and collaborative approach, we are well positioned to replicate this achievement in Taiwan.
