On 9th September 2024, Flotation Energy sponsored a senior citizens’ gathering organized by the Hsinchu Fishermen’s Association (HCFA), bringing together over 70 retired fishermen and volunteers.
The event featured fitness activities and craft workshops for attendees. Flotation Energy representatives also provided an introduction to floating offshore wind with audience discussions based on real case examples with visual aids. A catered meal was also provided for the attendees.
Mr. Tung, Director General of the HCFA, acknowledged Flotation Energy and Cobra’s commitment to local community engagement and expressed hope that wind power developers will continue to contribute to the growth and co-prosperity of the Hsinchu region.
Among the participants were retired fishermen and elderly women from local fishing communities, who regularly attend activities organized by the association. They expressed their appreciation for the joint venture partnership’s support and looked forward to further collaboration, fostering greater mutual understanding and trust.
The Chu Tin offshore wind project is planned to be located approximately 22 kilometers off the coast of Hsinchu City and Hsinchu County. With successful progress, the project aims to create long-term synergies with the local community.
