On 27 June 2026, Flotation Energy was honoured to be invited to join the Fish Fry Release event hosted by Hsinchu City Government, Hsinchu Fishermen’s Association and Guanyin Temple.
Local families gather for the fish fry event
To ensure the sustainability of fishery resources, enrich marine life, and ensure the longevity of stable oceans, the event celebrated fish fry releases (juvenile fish) as part of efforts to spread sustainable marine conservation knowledge. Over 80,000 young fish were carefully selected and released at the event.
Beginning with a prayer ceremony at the Guanyin Temple, the event saw families gathering across generations to watch the fish release. Throughout the event, grandparents and parents brought younger family members to release the fish by hand, in turn conveying the message of marine resource conservation and the concept of sustainable fisheries.
Based on the local marine ecosystem, suitable fish species were selected for release, which would enrich fish resources but also help increase the biodiversity of the local waters. The released fish fry included 62,000 black sea breams and 22,000 yellow breams, both high-value species currently found in the rocky reefs and sandbars along the Hsinchu fishing port coastline.
William Lin, Environmental Lead – Flotation Energy was honoured to take part in the community event
William Lin representing Flotation Energy joined the event, and he was touched:
”Belief gathers people together. If we really wish to achieve something for a sustainable world, people will come to help us.”
As an offshore wind developer supporting the global energy transition, Flotation Energy has the common goal of working with local communities to contribute to a more sustainable world. We will continue to engage local communities with close partnership, enabling floating offshore wind power and fisheries to successfully coexist.
